Default Transaxle Sensor Check Engine Light?

Hello, I have a 1993 SL2 and my Check Engine Light comes on all the time. Its been coming on for months, and nobody knows whats up. I got a GM code key and the code read Transaxle Sensor/Switch? But knowone knows what I am talking about. Any Ideas? I have done so many interior and exterior mods to my car.. i love my saturn and i hate people that piss on them!

If it's an auto then there could be a problem with the nuetral safety switch on the trans. What code is it?

Default Transaxle Sensor Check Engine Light?

OK I put the key in it gave me 11, which was a transaxle code. So then it gave me 31 i Believe which said Transaxle temperature circuit open (cold) Possible defective circuit or sensor. Any Ideas?

No ideas on that one, but I can offer you a little tip. Your car uses an OBD1 computer. To retrieve the codes you can use a jumper wire. I know it's too late for you, but if any of your friends ask, let them know.

I checked at work today and the code 31 is for the trans temp sensor circuit. Check the the temp sensor on the auto trans and the wiring to it. The sensor is on the front of the trans under the air filter bax. It's the same sensor the is used for the PCM coolant temp sensor and the air intake sensor. I don't think that I have ever seen one in the trans go bad. So most likely it's a wiring problem but don't rule out the sensor. Also check the PCM temp sensor for the coolant. The PCM does compare the two readings.
