Default trunk doesnt work

well my trunk is no longer opening with the remote or from the inside trunk button. only opens with the key. ive checked the fuses in the engine compartment and fuses in the drivers feet area. so far all fuses are good. when i hit the trunk button on my remote, i see the lights flash on and off like it normally did but the trunk just wont open =(. anyone had this problem? my warranty on the car just expired. is this something only the dealer can fix?
i have 35000 miles on my 2004 saturn ion and just past 3 years. this sucks. stop working after i washed my car 3 days ago.

Open the trunk and have a look at the latch. There is a lever switch on it. This is the valet switch. See if it has somehow been moved to the lock position. If so then move ot to the unlock position.
