Default Trunk won't stay locked.

Alright, so I got myself a 1995 Saturn SC1, and the other day in the process of moving my friends things out of one house to another, the trunk would not close. Now note, there was NOTHING in its way, but yet it seems to simply not want to engage the lock. Has anyone delt with this or have known of similar problems? I really want to get it fixed, since well, having a bungee cord out of the back of my car doesn't make it the most attractive thing in the world.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fritz

Welcome to the Board.

Make sure that the latch has not somehow locked on you, if it has just unlock it. What is the chance that while moving something hit the latch and moved it outof position? It can be done. Way to check it is to crawl into the trunk through the back seat openings and pull the trunk lid down to see how everything lines up.

I looked at the lock, and for some reason it was bent a little, my friend "gently" bended back to the right position, and tada, locking again. Sometimes the most simple things are the things people overlook.

I do have to say though, I like the speedy reply
