When the car is cold an idling in gear the steering wheel shakes noticably. I can see it and feel it. Things lying around the car also shake. Its seems to calm down some when the car is warm.
Is this normal?

top engine mount starting to collapse. (TAM - Torque Axis Mount) Normal? yes...when they get worn. Rubber is more rigid and stiff when cold so the poor idle quality is more noticable.
