Default What happened to my clutch??!!! HELP!

I was at a stoplight, Saturday nights of all nights and when the light turned green, I pressed my clutch pedal and there was no pressure and I couldn't get into gear. Luckily we have roadside assistance and I got stuck in front of a firestation and the firefighters helped me out, bless them!

Anyway, is it possible that the cable from the clutch pedal snapped? If not, what could it be? Are these failures covered under warranty?

Thanks in advance for all your replies!

Snapped cable is the best/most optimistic possibility to look into.

It fits the symptoms.

There are no cables for the clutch in your system. It's all hydralic. If the problem is in the hydralics (good chance) then it's covered under warrenty. Even if it's ot the warrenty should cover for component failure due to manufacturing defect. So a newer car with a sudden failure is likely covered.

I was wondering what was going on! A quick look under the hood while waiting for the tow truck shows some fluid....not sure if its brake fluid and its not splattered....hard to see at night with only a mini flashlight, will wait till daylight to check it out

Default update

well this morning i looked at the clutch master cylinder, and its bone dry. I looked at the brake master cylinder and its topped off but looks like brake dust (?) looks like some fluid leakage on the transmission housing right below the intake tube and battery tray by the speed sensor. My car is out of commission until tomorrow since Saturn is closed on Sunday here. I went back to superior tire/goodyear last night and had my pops help me tow it back home.

as of 1:53 PST my Saturn is back in my hands!!!

Apparently the battery was leaking acid and ate through the tray and the acid dripped onto the hydraulic hose and ate it away. They replaced the battery, positive battery cable, hose, and master clutch cylinder all under warranty. The only thing I had to pay for was $14.00 for a partial hour of labor to replace the retaining clips for the front air dam when the tow truck ripped it off when they were lifting it on to the bed. Man that saved me about $300.

Glad it's all fixed up for you. Looks like the towing company owes you 14.00 dollars. Thanks for updating us.

Don't have any cables, it's a hydro clutch. Check the fluid to see if it's full. You are going to look in the engine bay near the firewall on the driver's side. Look for a gromet going from the engine bay into the car's cabin, there should be a red dip-stick down there. That's the manual transmission fluid dip-stick.
