Every time i drive through downtown chicago. And there is really bad traffic..my car starts to run funny. Im thinking it is because of all the stop and going i do. This happens for maybe 2 to 3 days, but after that it runs fine. When it starts to act up..its like something is clogging up something. Everytime i put my gas on the accelerator it struggles to get up to speed. I have a 95 sc1.. 5 speed.. if im in a lower gear then what i should be it runs fine, but i dont like to drive like this. Does anyone know what could be happening to my car. And what could i do to make this go away after something gets clogged. I was told that my fuel system or something could be getting clogged up but i dont know. thanks for any info guys

How high is the engine temperature? If the needle rises to the 3/4 mark, it means your cooling system is not doing its job. Flush out the cooling system to remove scale that limits cooling effeciency, and also, check to see that the electric cooling fan(s) work.

when was the last time you changed your plugs and wires. also how many miles are on your car.

also check under the coils. That typically corrodes, IF it is corroded clean it up and that may work?

thanks guys. my car has over 180k on it. I think i am going to get a tune up. And get the cooling system checked out. thanks for the advice!
