Default Windshield wiper blades will not turn off...

I'm having a problem with my windshield wiper blades not turning off after I turn them on. I actually have to turn my car off for a few seconds for them to turn off. Does anyone know what might be causing this and if I would need to bring it in or if I could probably do it myself. I do basic work on my car already and I don't want to pay for it if I don't need to. It's driving me nuts, it's been raining all week!

haha welcome to the spot dude

that's funny, imagining some guy freakin out and screaming at his wipers..

i'd check the wiper motor, connections (i had my turn signals stay on one time, and it was just that the connector had popped off a little, and also take a look at the screws on the outside holding the wipers down-it sounds silly but my buddys honda did that and when we bolted down the nut real nice it stopped.

*shrug* either or, take it to saturn and get a free quote

edit: check the fuse box too, it's probably okay because they're running, but do it anyway

This is the wiper motor.

Get a new one from Joey.

The wiper motor has a 'park' switch, that is one of the first parts to go bad.

The motor is pricy from Saturn, so get a used one from Joey at 6th planet.
