Mounting Sub Inside Out

Before I start, I ran searches aboutthis topic here at saturnspot as well as on Google and CarAudio.com; I couldn't find anything.

I was considering Mounting one of my subs inside out on the box because it has a few dents from banging against a hard plastic craftsman drill case i used to have in my trunk. What kind of effects will this have on the sound/air pressure/car? I'm not sure if the box is seperated between the two subs or not, but I doubt they are. Will doing this cause too much pressude inside the box and possibly hurt the other sub? Any advice you could offer will help, thx.

what kinda of box is it. i assume sealed because you can fit 2 and a drill case.

Yeah its a sealed box. And thanks for the link. I got bored yesterday and decided to flip it around, didn't like it. It actually sounded really muffled to me. As if it wasn't pushing enough air, so I turned it back around.

Did you flip both? If you just flipped one and your box isn't divided, then your having a push pull conflict between the speakers. That could cause the muffled sound.

If you just reversed one of the subwoofers, you should've reversed the wires too, on either of the subs.

Sub1 = + to + on amp, - to - on amp.
Sub2 = + to - on amp, - to + on amp.

Now if you reversed both of the subs, you can either leave the wiring the same, or you can swap the wires on both subs.

The Box is split in the middle, seperate chambers. I'll have to give what Satyllac says a shot, seeing as how I kept the wiring the same, and I only plan to flip the one with the dent in the dust cap. Unfortunately it decided to bloody snow today, so it'll have to wait a week. The subs I have are dual voice coil though, so I would just run neg(amp) to pos(sub coil 1) then pos(sub coil 2), and pos(amp)/neg(coil 1)/neg(coil 2), right?

Do you have the subs wired in series or parallel?

The wiring on each individual sub will stay the same. The wiring on one sub will be the reverse of the other sub.

Amp(+) to Sub1(Coil1+).
Sub1(Coil1-) to Sub1(Coil2+).
Sub1(Coil2-) to Amp(-).

Amp(+) to Sub2(Coil1-).
Sub2(Coil1+) to Sub2(Coil2-).
Sub2(Coil2+) to Amp(-).

I guess you would say they are parallel. I never actually messed with the wiring of the subs themselves since I got the system. The dealer that I bought the system from wired the subs into the box for me, I just installed intot the car. I don't really need a diagram, should be able to figure out with words. As it stands, the amp is a 2 channel, and both subs are wired like this:

Amp(+) to sub(coil 1 +) to sub(coil 2 +)
Amp(-) to sub(coil 1 -) to sub(coil 2 -)

Like I said, both subs have their own channel on the amp, wired just like that facing normal. I could wire it like you state if needed, but if there isn't any actual gain from diferent set of wiring I don't see the point.

EDIT: I did a little research to figure out if I'm running proper Impedance with the subs. The subs are 4 Ohms at each coil, the amp runs either 2 or 4 ohm load.
