| Figure its time to introduce myself Well, I've really been a member for a couple of weeks now, but I figure I should at least acknowledge this part of the forum. My name is Dan Seiber, I live in Clarkston Michigan. Got a 91 SL1(my 1st saturn), with all its double digit hp glory. Its a good car though, and thats why I looked for a saturn forum. kinda dissapointed there is absolutely jack squat that can be modified on that car though. Im really more familiar with VW's, I've owned a bunch, and I work at a shop that specializes in VW's and Audi's. Really I joined this forum just to simply learn about saturns. So if you have any q's, feel free. If not, oh well.

| Welcome! There's a lot that can be modified, just not a lot that's cheap or easy. Just means you can be that much more proud of it once you've done something. |

| Welcome aboard! How many miles are on it and did you buy it when it first came out or did you get it used?

| I bought it used, it has just over 160k, but runs like a beast, still gotta lotta miles left. I don't really feel like doing an engine swap or turbo though, don't have enough knowledge about turbos and swaps take for ever and wiring always sux. Plus I don't wanna go through the hassle of switching from throttle body injection to direct port(i.e. twin cam). It does need new rings, so I could do the whole performance head thing and bore it out, lightweight rods and so on so forth, but dont have that much time, no spare car to drive right now. I'll have to check my bank account sometime next year. I must say this though, I've owned five VDub's and this thing runs way better than all of em put together. The only thing wrong with it is the ac clutch seized on me not to long ago. that an oil consumtion, but its a saturn, so that don't count.

| Well, if you ever have to dig into that engine & do some work, it might be well worth your time to do a DOHC head swap. Won't make it a true DOHC, but it'll get rid of the TBI and give you a bit more power than even a non-TBI SOHC, most likely. |

| I could, but I don't even know what's involved in doing so. I can't seen to use the search engine on here properly to get info, and I would need to know stuff like throttle cable hookups, how to link up the fuel rail, things like that.
Bt that would probably be the easiest way to go for me.
