Hello-- my name is Tom, I'm from Monroe, MI, and my wife and I just bought a 2002 SL1 to replace my '99 Ford Escort. She has had a 2001 SL1 for the last couple of years and it has needed minimal repair (cracked brake rotor at 35,000 miles, front brake pad replacement, replacement of the muffler hanger "belly band"), so after a transmission fiasco with the Escort, we thought I should have a Saturn too. She has the automatic transmission and I have the 5-speed.

Thank you. I'm glad to have found this site. Whether or not I have problems with the cars, it's nice to have other Saturn owners to "talk" with--you get insight you just won't get from the owner's manual or the Haynes or Chilton's books.
