| New round here. Hey im new around here, just bought a 98 SC yesterday and i LOVE it. PLus the red really grabs attention from the women Plan on doing a few things, nothing too crazy though. Just maybe an intake and a really deep exhaust, i dont like to be annoying plus i want to hear my tunes. Car came with 78k miles, panasonic CD deck, rockford fosgate punch 150S amp and two punch subs. Cant get that part to work though. But i love this car so far, way better than the lumina. Although it runs a little rough ive heard thats just how saturns are. |

| It's good to have knowledgable people around that can help with a specific car. Unlike a few, other forums ive been to like our local drift group. They wont help you out with anything unless you own a 240sx or a 86 corolla lol. Anything i should watch out for as far as my car goes? Im a mature guy thats really easy to get along with. Haha my insurance actually is lower i just found out with this car. Now thats awesome lol. Yay for airbags! |

| Lessee... things to know about....
-many Saturn S-series burn some oil. Recommended to check each time you fill the gas.
-The ECTS (engine coolant temp sensor) had a resin tip up until '00 or '01, when it was changed to a brass tip. Cheap & easy fix that's likely to be needed if it's not already been done. Make sure it's replaced with a brass tip one - some parts stores still sell the resin tipped one.
-don't even ask about engine swaps unless it's another s-series engine. There are only 2 basic types of s-series engine: SOHC and DOHC. Both are 1.9L. The SOHC was 85 hp 91-94, then 100 hp 95-02. The DOHC is 124 hp all years.
that's all I can think of for now... |
