Default Brakes

Ok I am new to saturn scene my wife drives a saturn ion with 75k miles on it. when you press the brake lightly it makes a humming noise and shimmers a little. not like the usual noise breakes make. but could it be the brakes..... And if i have to replace the brake pads is it pretty easy... because I work on show cars in my spare time. Any thoughts or comments would help me....

Try driving the car and applying the park brake--carefully and slowly--to see if the brake pulsation is still there. If not then it would most likely be warped or rusted front brake rotors.
