Default Buying an Ion

Well for about a week I have been lurking around these forums reading up on Saturns over all.

I was going to buy a used 2000 SC2... Bu the dealer had sold it... so instead I took the new 2007 ION for a test drive and fell in love with it.

Now I have (for now) just one little question... I'll phrase it two ways to make sure it's clear...

Is there a diffrence in the new 2007 Ion and the 2006 Ion's body styleing?

Or are the 06 and 07 body's the same? so I can buy body parts for a 06 and put it on a 07 with out much trouble?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but i really can't tell a diffrence... Oh and I'm talking about the Quad Coupe...

I'm sure I'll come up with more questions down the road.

'06 and '07 are nearly identical, and I'm pretty sure are 100% identical as far as body parts go.

haha yeah...

I was working on making a sleeper 96 Toyota Camry with a Celica/MR2 Engine swap (3sgte turbo)... But over the past 3 weeks and even more yesterday everything has gone down hill and my fun lil car is now... about dead... more than just tanny and engine too!

So all my family own's Saturns... All of them but my 15 year old lil sister but she wants a Mini Cooper so i can work with that...

But I'm highly considering getting a 07 or 06 Ion.... preferably a Redline or a Ion 3...

But hey i thought of another question... What are the new diffrences in the 06 and the 07 other than the hp incresse?

there's no horsepower increase, it's just being measured different

03-04 both have speed density based fuel delivery, 05 and up use air flow metering. this may sway your decision based on what you need to manipulate. there's been a lot of talk of HP Tuners being released for the 2.2 finally, but no word on whether it will cover both the MAF and MAP based, or strictly MAF. an air/fuel controller (i.e. safc2) works on the 03-04, should work on the 05 and up as well.

physically, they're all the same, only difference will be in the 06 interior, the center dash piece and radio is different and has OnStar. also, either 05 or 06 they changed the steering wheel to the nice one similar to a Redline, as opposed to the bumper-car wheel I have in the 04.

It's usually a pretty friendly forum, though like many others, it does have it's moments of... bluntness. We try to keep it toned down more than most others, though.

some people would rather not have to mess with the VVT, can't say I blame all of them either. the 2.2 is a great engine, all three of the ecotec options in the ions are.
