2.4L was only offered in the Ion3, but not all the 3's have it - there's a performance package that includes the 2.4L and an upgraded suspension (totally worth it, IMO - the suspension feels much better than the base).

right

the only downside to some of the packages is the redline kit on the 2.4 QC. I like it a lot better with stock panels.

^half agreed. I think the "sport appearance package" or whatever they called it was dumb. I prefer the redline looks, but on a redline. The appearance package is just a wannabe setup.

It made me think of the 2002 and up "Action Package" for the Toyota Celica.

yeah that was basically Saturn's answer to it actually.

the 2.4's do have ecu tuning with HP Tuners though, so there is potential for some fun cars to be built. I'm about to start working with at least one in a few weeks here, he's running 15.0X in the mid to upper 90's right now, we're hoping mid 14's before the nitrous

ION 3 Sedan and Coupe U.S. only starting in 2006 not sure of how it works out in Canada.

called the

Enhanced Performance Package
2.4L 4cyl DOHC 16V W/VVT Engine
Enhanced Suspension
Antilock brakes
Switchable Traction Control

and it had nothing to do with the Coupe Appearance Package that did not include the performance package, but you could add both on the same car just as you could add the travel package or side airbags.

I will say for my money this Enhanced Performance Package add the travel package makes this one hell of an ION 3. Think of what you get,

OnStar
Intergrated cell phone
Power steering
Power brakes
Dual front air bags
Filtered A/C
Power Windows
Power Locks
Power mirrors
Keyless entry
Cruise control
Tilt wheel
Remote trunk release
Auto headlamps
AM/FM/CD/MP3
AUX input jack for IPOD's
Folding rear seats
Adjustable armrest w/ storage
Auto dimming rear view mirror
Outside temp gauge
Digital compass
Map lights
Dual vanity mirrors
Rear window defogger
Security rear door locks
Foglamps
Anchors and teathers for baby seats
16" Alloy wheels
2 1/4 Stainless steel exhaust
Driver seat height adjustment
Adjustable lumbar support
Anti lockout

Then you can option up floor mats, stereo's, automatic transmission, side airbags, leather, and more. No need to wonder why I bought the third ION 3 2.4L. It's the last one to have the OUTSTANDING PLASTIC body. I'll have no need to buy another car for many years to come with these three outstanding rigs that give good gas mileage.
