Default Front License Plate

I just bought a 2005 Ion 2. Unfortunately, I live in Missouri, which requires a front license plate. The dealership did not include a front license bracket. I'm curious whether Saturn makes a front bracket specific for this car or if I should simply buy a kit at my local auto parts shop and drill the required holes in my front bumper.

Anyone ever been through this before? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

after washing my car a million times I've noticed that there are a couple of depressions in the front bumper which are right about the place where a front license would be. You might not have to drill.

Go to your salesman and tell him you want the plate bracket.

Welcome to the Board.

Check in the spare tire well. There should be a plate bracket with the car somewhere. This is usually where they end up. If you can't find one tell the people that you bought the car from that you need one. They should supply you one. They do come with the car from the factory.

If it's a used car, it's sold as equipped. If anything's missing, it's not the seller's responsibility to include it, or if anything's broken, like a glovebox hinge or something, that's just how it is.
Having said that, it is a front plate state so you'd think they'd be on top of that, and they ought to have put a bracke ton there, factory or not, when they put it on display, if only to attract buyers. If it was a Saturn retailer or some large big name new car dealer, they might give you one as a courtesy, for good P.R. My Saturn retailer's parts counter gave me several things free that I found I needed over the course of a few weeks after I bought my 97 SW2 used from them. When they delivered the car to me, they wanted to put in a child seat tether anchor, and asked which of the 3 back seat locations they should put it in. I said I would probably move it around to suit the various cargo needs, so they installed one in all 3!
And yeah look in the spare tire well.

I think if you are required by law to have one it shouldnty of left the dealership with out it. sounds to me like they just didnt want to put forth the effort to make the car legal. I would demand a plate bracket be put on and at no x-tra charge. Bad dealership, !!!! Bad, !!!

Like I said, I don't think it's the seller's problem, but for humanity's sake I would think any dealer would do it before putting the car out on the lot for viewing. I would like to know what kind of dealer it was though.
