| How much power N/A? Ok so how much hp do you think the 2.2 could achieve without boost?
I personally think that 200 is a conservative estimate depsite the tuner bashing rants of my friends.
So what do you all think?
personally I think it would be pretty cool the leave it N/A |

| even a rebuilt motor with higher compression won't put out to much.

| I love how people who have no idea about engines in general, let alone the ecotec, are the first ones to spout off a number whenever this comes up...so I can relate to your discussion with your friends...
there was one individual I know of who hit around 250 and I believe he also had individual throttle bodies.
power is to be found, but it's going to take work. increased compression, cams, a little head work, tuning tuning tuning, possibly reworked intake manifold, more efficient exhaust manifold.
I could see around 250-280 honestly, and it would be quick too, but it wouldn't compete with the boosted builds that you can commonly find in all honesty. in the end it's going to come down to tuning and what cam profile you're able to pull off.
There are a lot of people talking about building hybrids with a 2.4 block and bottom end, 2.2 or 2.0 head, etc., but so far it's all been speculation, at least right now.

| and that was GM working in house
he's asking as far as someone building on their own
so the estimates I mentioned are a bit more realistic
but see, there are already many mild boost setups on STOCK engine builds that put down around 300 already...sooo this wouldn't be the most cost effective route...
