Has anybody else ever had the reverse lights on their Ion go out? I was getting my oil changed and the attendant discovered that when I shift into reverse neither reverse lamp lights up.

I have to get the car inspected next month to renew the plates and I would like to know if anyone has had a similar problem and if they've solved it.

I just paid the car off (it's an '03) and during two of the four months I've had to spend more than the car payment getting something fixed (new alternator, switch in the ignition that disabled the starter because it thought the key was fake or something like that).

Here's hoping I can hold out for an Astra.

Yeah my car thought the shifter was fake so the transmission got out of the car and rolled down the street. I found it the next day in the gutter with a pig and someones reverse switch with a key sticking out of it.

it's probably just the reverse switch on the back of the trans, mine went bad a while ago I just have yet to replace it
