| Vue 4 banger - 5 speed
2003 Vue IS a cheap car....but you CAN make it show & go !
It's tough because your trail blazin' here.
All the Vue stuff out there is weak and BORING...
But...
get a custom exhaust (ditch the resonator) and it sounds better...
get lowering springs and you get better handling...
get a turbocharger ($$, my next mod) and it will haul....
I hear kits to update Ecotec engines will someday come to dealers...
Kits are $2000 , save your pennies !
but hey this was a cheap car with NO power options.
Check out my Pics, It CAN be done ! Not Too Expensive! |

Did you have to change your timing belt yet?I guess that if you can afford the extras then you can afford the pump prices. I have to say that my VUE is not a POS. One more thing HA! :P

| Acceleration was not what I'd hoped for and I could not get used to the shiftless VTi transmission.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
VTi tranny, source of problem, and no longer available, i believe, saturn had too many problems with it.
exchange the sucker under the 30 day return policy, and get one with a regular automatic or a manual tranny, and the v6 if you want some power. a fully loaded VUE with a four banger is going to be way short on horsepuckies.
this is the purchasers mistake, but with Saturn's 30 day exchange policy it can be rectified, i would be exchanging and upgrading ASAP. even if the payment went up a bit.

| Another '03 VUE 5-speed clutch issue! Friend buys a '03 Vue 5-speed with 45k for $14g's!!! First 30 days she had it it developed a CV problem even with warrenty cost her $600. Now at 63K the clutch is shot can't get it out of N and the stealership wants $1800 to fix. She can only sell it for $5k.
Anyone else fry a clutch in a Vue this fast!! Not like she is DRAG racing guys.
I guess what I have heard about the newer Saturns is true they ARE junk except for the Honda powered Redline!! |

If you read this thread nobody had any engine problems, anythign mentioned was tranny/drivetrain. So the Honda Engine is no better than the Ecotec. |
