Default Only TEN TIMES better!!

The V6 IS better cause it is a Honda the manufacture of more engines than any other company in the history of the world!!

Have had THREE Saturn four cyl. each had a reduction in compression BEFORE 100,000 miles. TWO with major oil consumption after 80k!!

Four Honda's I have owned had NO compression loss with OVER 200,000 miles on them!

Both kinds of cars have been treated to the same Wal-Mart 5W-30 dino juice in winter and 10W-30 in summer changed with the filter every 4,000 miles. Spark plugs and all other fluids every 30K.

IMO, the Saturn 1.9L engine doesn't count toward gauging the reliability & characterisitics of any other GM engine. It's very unique...

I agree with Purdueguy that the Saturn 1.9L engines are a beast of their own. Saturn made all of their 1.9's in house and on their own.

Secondly, the Ecotec engine Vs the V6 in the vue then throwing the 1.9's in there is an unfair comparison. The Ecotec is a GM engine, not a Saturn engine. The 1.9's are a completely different generation of the Saturn corporation than the 2.2 and V6.

You are right that Honda makes more engines, but they have also been around far longer than Saturn to work out their bugs. I am sure in the first 10 years they were around they were still working the bugs out of their product too. Experience improves quality, Saturn is gaining the experience.

Purdueguy, I attended Purdue, grad. 2000 in ME. Worked for Toyota in Evansville, IN for awhile. What are you studying?

The 1.9 is what I had in the '97 SC1, 5-speed, worst of the bunch.
