| Anyone got that crazy CVT? I've owned two Saturn SC's, so i've never really been much into the Vue community.
I've always thought they looked pretty sweet, and then when they offered a redline trim, I went "woah!"
The tranmission options are awesome, too...but the one i'm interested is the one speed. Does anyone have that? If you could post pictures of anything visibly different, and maybe a video, that would be awesome! Even an audio file of acceleration would be cool....
Thanks! |

| from what I understand the CVTs are slow, but good for economy. |

| i test drove a CVT *auto* ion early last year..
it was weird, i could see using it for constant long rides, it creates a smooter acceleration, *with no hard tranny drops* and makes it seem like you're more in control, don't ask me why..
but, it was much slower than revving to 4 and droppin into 2nd, same into 3rd, same into 4th, and that's when i'm used to an AUTO. imagine going to that from a manual..
overall, a good idea, overall, i don't think they would've sold enough to profit from it |

In theory, a car with a CVT should reach 60 mph (100 km/hr) 25-percent faster than the same car with the same engine and a manual transmission [ref]. That's because the CVT converts every point on the engine's operating curve to a corresponding point on its own operating curve.

Good animation on it, too. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/cvt9.htm |

| In theory, but that's not what I've heard in reality. I could be wrong. I've also heard durability issues, but IDK. |

Yeah, just went to Saturn.com and tried to build a vue. They don't have it anymore, but they still have the 3.5v6 AWD vue |

| When I bought my vue the salesman told me that the CVT was discontinued due to alot of problems in quality. the belts would nto hold up and things were coming apart in there. |
