Default 1996 SL2-Need Help Removing Window Crank

just like it says-i have been trying for about a half an hour-no luck-came and looked up on board and did not help either-just trying to remove the window crank so i can put new speakers in-went to auto store and they did not have a window crank remover-please help-my door panel is apart and i would like to get my new speakers in

You need to get to the hold on clip and removed it with a screw driver or pair of needle nose pliers. The clip will best gotten to by going between the handle and the plastic washer.

thanks for the reply-I did get one side, but then it got dark


Now my next problem is connecting the rods on the for the door handle and auto locks-any tips you can give to help me with that

If by auto locks you mean power locks ythen remove the switch from the handle. this gives you a bit better access to the rods to put them back into the holes and reistall the clips. Anything beyond that is a matter of holding your tongue the right way.

The rods are tricky but with a screw driver and some tricky fingers you can get it

Wish there was an easier way trust me haha

yeah i worked at it tonight for a bit-i hope i can get it tomorrow-thanks for the encouragement and hopefully i am lucky tomorrow

if anyone else has any help let me know-i probably won't work on it till evening

hey thanks for those vids-they were great

I did end up getting the window crank off by prying between the crank and the door panel-then using a tiny flathead to force the silver "c" off the back of the crank-

as for the rods-I did figure those out as well-when putting them back on you need to do the bottom one first and then pull the rod out as far as possible-this gives you just barely enough room to get it into the clip and then snap your clip on-it takes a little time, but you can get it

that tool would be sweet to have on both of those vids
