Default '92 SC2, why does it have a radiator.

i mean really. whats the point of the radiator being there if u got no air coming through, there is no grill, and the K&N intake isn't getting air from it. so whats the point. since this model is notorious for over heating.

there is air getting in there, I have a 92 sl2 and I wondered this my self, even if there isnt a opening there is the lower air dam, that has a deflector on the bottem that directs air up into it. I too mine off and it would over heat, or get hott really quick.

'91-'95 usually did not over heat, however people thought they did because normal operating temperature is at 1/2 as per the gauge and the fan wouldnt turn on untill the needle was in the red. This was actually fine for the car as long as when the needle hit the red the fan turned on.

in '96 they changed the calibration of the gauge to show normal operating temperatures at 1-2mm past 1/4 as per the gauge and the fan would turn on at 3/4 as per the gauge.
