Default 96 SL1 transmission problems w/ SES code

hi i'm new here, my g/f just bought a 96 SL1 and after driving it today the SES light came on and she said the car was acting funny. so i drove it and sometimes it slips like the torque converter isnt locking up and sometimes it doesnt shift out of gear for a while. i scanned the codes and it came up with 3 codes, 2 codes were for "incorrect gearing ratio" and one was something like "torque converter lockup failure" or something, i cant remember. is the tranny toast or can it be saved? thanks.

well it could be a couple of things, if you can get me the actual code numbers, I might be able to give you some more info. also so far it sounds like it might be a valve body
