Default 97 to 96 sl1 and sl2

i have a wrecked 97 sl2 5 speed dohc that i love to death gas milage handles good i love it. but my core support is crushed in from someone pulling out in front of me with no license, no insurance, and all i have is liability, and a lawyer cant do nothing for me. My question is can u put a 97 dohc engine and 5 speed trans into a 96 sl1 sohc automatic . would it be worth the trouble or should i fix my wrecked one.

well, first thing is that you'll have toswitch allof the wireing and computer, second, you would have to install A clutch pedal, and everything that goes with it " slave cylinder" you'll have to do a lot of work to it, to do this, but it can be done,

How worth it it is will partly depend on how much you can do yourself. How mechanically inclined are you (and/or your friends)?
