Default 97 Sl1 & SeaFoam

So I've done the seafoam in the gas trick, and I can't really see a great improvement. My mechanic has told me that I have a carbon build up issue and thats why my EGR valve keeps going up, and the check engine light stays on. I really don't want to pay to have my engine ripped apart and soda blasted, can anyone give a guy a little advice on seafoamin his engine via brake booster ? Whats the best way to go about this with my car, if it's even worthwhile?

I use sea foam everytime i change my oil and really do think it does a great job. just follow the instructions on the back of the can. u can insert it through the intake side of the pcv hose and make sure u dont stick the tube fully in there because it will bog down the engine when it sucks it in. u can also u is in your gas and oil. hope this helps
