Default 99 DOHC v/s 01 DOHC

What is the difference under the hood between the 99 SC2 DOHC and the 01 SC2 DOHC? On procarparts they have a cold air intake for the 01 SC2 DOHC for $36.00 and I am just wondering if it would work on my 99.

The throttle body is located in a different place - it's back behind the middle of the engine on the later ones, and higher and to the side of the engine on yours. I'm not sure if you could hack part of the pipe off, but it definately won't fit without modification.

Some 1999's came with the aluminum intake manifold and horizonally mounted throttle body. Later models were equipped with the composite intake manifold (equal length runners) and vertically mounted throttle body.

I'm pretty sure they switched the cam cover in 96 when it went to OBD II.
