Default (¯`·._(¯`·. Is this Normal ??? _.·´¯)_.·´¯)

I've had my SW2(manual) for almost 4 years ..... And this morning for the very first time while I was on the fwy, I glanced over to RPM gauge and noticed that the needle was at 3,000 RPM and I was going 65MPH

This can't be normal, shouldn't it be around 1500 or so? My mustang with 4.10 gears was at only 2800RPM Oviously when I slowed my speed to 60 it would come down to 2700 rpm, i went up to 70mph it wouldn't go past 3000 rpm.

lol, you just noticed it now?

How could it not be normal? What could have possibly broke that would cause that?

Yes, it's normal...and not as bad as you think. The engine is right in the fat part of it's effeciency curve.

Ok, cool........... just thought maybe the tranny might be on its way out.

Found it odd because non of the above cars have never hit 3000 RPM at moderate fwy speeds, unless you downshifted or something like that. Just good to know that it's normal
