Default alternator question


hi, i have a question and how stuff works does not have it.

ok when the car is started does the alternator take over the electrical supply or does it just recharge the battery.

the alternator provides electricity to operate the car once it's started, as well as maintaining a full battery. The battery is basically only there to start the car.
