Default Another post on kidcrash's '91 SC????

As a few of you may have noticed, I just bought a '91 SC the other day with 121k mi. on it. Now when I take it on the freeway, right about when I hit 75 it's starts shimmying and the car starts to shake a bit. I just put new tires on it and got an alignment, so my question is do all of the older Saturn's do this or is it something I should look into??

PS - Thanks for all your input so far guys.

I would've said get some good tires and an alignment. But since you already did that... I'm assuming when you got the tires they balanced them?

I got a bad wheel bearing right now and it shakes over 60 up to about 80 and anything over that it goes away. Of course if your bearing was that bad, you would also hear it grinding like mine does.

Have you still not fixed that, scott? Waiting to figure out if you're keeping the car or not?

Sorry for the tiny thread hijack...

I also have a shimmy above 60 MPH. I don't think it's a bearing because it's not making any noise. I am putting on new wheels and tires and then will get it aligned. I hope it takes care of it. If not, I will be looking at the struts, tie rod ends or ball joints.

Haha, no I still haven't fixed it yet. I was unsure whether or not I was keeping this car, but I think I'm proabably gonna have it forever, so my next check I'm gonna buy one. I'm actually looking to just a whole used knuckle so I don't have to take it in to get the hub pressed in.
