Default Better fuel

I have a 2000 SL1 with 1.9 SOHC Automatic. Besides doing the obvious tune up with properly inflated tires, is there anything else to boost fuel economy? Air intake? What about for a 2003 Vue with a 2.2 DOHC? The SL1 and the Vue both have 80,000 on them.

Thats about it really. Make sure your s-series has a new ECTS installed. New ones are 14.50 at the dealer

Yes, I already had to replace the ECTS on the SL1. The old resin tipped one was in there and malfunctioning. When you say thats it really, are you talking about changing the air intake? If you are, what would be good for increasing air flow?

If you want to get better gas mileage keep your stock intake. The colder the air the flows over the IAT the more fuel will be used. My MPG dropped 2-3 when I installed my own true ram air intake. Thankfully I have some Michelin tires on there that increased my mpg by 2-3, so it balanced out

Thats another good thing: Type of tire. Yes air pressure is important but tire pressue along with the right tire can increase your mpg a significant amount
