Default Cali Model

Mmmk, my old '91 Sl has been gone awhile now. Earlier this week I purchased an '01 Sl1. Single Cam, 5 spd. As it turns out when I went to buy the car, the dealer had me sign a California Title for it. I did a Carfax on it which said it was a cali car till 2003 when it was registered here and sold to the dealer that had it till i bought it. Being from Michigan, I have no clue about California cars, only that they are really picky about what can go on the road. So can anyone tell me whats going to be different mechanically with the car then what the rest of the country might have? It'd be a big help.

cali cars generally just have more emissions crap on them. Not sure, but I think by '01 they were just making all the S-Series with the cali emissions stuff. You'll probably notice that your exhaust manifold looks like it swallowed a big can of peaches - that's the pre-cat (a small catalytic converter before the main one under the car). Also, there will be a thing in the passenger front of the engine compartment, which is the AIR system (I forget what that stands for), which is also for emissions.
