Default Carbon fiber hood??

I've been doing a cursory search and have yet to find a carbon fiber hood for my 99 SC1. Anybody know of anyplace I can find one at reasonable cost?

Default Carbon fiber hood??

<cough, choke, gasp, wheeze>

I thought I said "reasonable", by which I meant *cheap*. Got any less expensive options?

unless u buy it from someone local, or on a saturn-specific website, they'll always be very expensive. try ebay, although i doubt anything carbon fiber on there will go for much less than the listed 600 dollars..

just get a flat black hood and but the vynal wrap on it or something haha

Good luck finding ANY carbon fiber hood for cheap. The only way you will come across something for a good price is if it's USED, as in being scratched and/or cracked. I've seen some go for decent prices with smashed corners, they were leaned up against a wall or something without anything under it on the floor to protect the corners.

i see carbon fiber in my area but very little. it's just not a good idea with large rocks and sand and stuff being kicked up at your hood all winter.

Where do you live planetjanet? Maybe carbon fiber isn't even an idea you should worry about.

We live in Central Florida right across the street from the intercoastal waterway and less than 5 minutes from the beach.
We're also investigating the possibility of moving to Portland, OR in about two years. I miss a metro area horribly because this is a little nothing town and we used to live in Atlanta.

The idea of wrapping the hood in carbon fiber is a really good one, I thought. I'm just wanting a specific look, not nessesarily for racing, though who knows. If I can get her up to snuff, I might do some autocross with her.

since the hoods on our cars are so damn light in the first place why not just stick with the stock one?
unless youre looking for the looks 600 bucks is a lot for a hood that wont do much good
