It's getting burnt, but not enough to show discernable blue smoke out the tailpipe. I don't mean to offend, but you must be new to Saturn because it is a well known Saturn 1.9L problem. GM says it is normal. If you ever need a rebuild for a different problem, you will likely get better piston rings and the burning problem will cease. Keep a close watch on the level at all times to avoid it getting low enough to break your motor or accellerate wear.

that is def a lot more than normal, a half quart-3/4 quart per fill up is normal..

it sound silly, but is the gasket on the drain plug and oil pan sitting flush and tightly? other than a blown head gasket or something, there's really nowhere else for the oil to leak to..

def make sure it's not mixing with the antifreeze, that could be VERY bad..

My oil seems to burn slower when I change the oil and drive very easy. It hardly burns at all for the first few hundred miles.

You can try using thicker oil, like 20W50. I put that in an old datsun 510 that was puffing blue smoke and it stopped smoking so I could sell it.

Mine never burnt much at all at first, then around 80000 km it came on, and stayed steady at about a litre every oil change distance, until I sold it at 209000 km.

Oil burning is perfectly normal, and the amount entirely depends on mileage and if the the car had regular maintenance especially oil changes. Sometimes you get lucky and it won't burn any but those cases seem rare. My SC2 didn't use anything noticable and my SL1 would use up to a quart every 300-400 miles (yes I know it's shot).

As for SDA, great site, great company. I've dealt with him for a few things such as cams and always came away with a great product. As far as those pistons, the would be fine for a low boost setup, but really aren't any better than stock pistons, so be careful what you buy. They can only take the abuse for so long, and then you will end up with a shattered piston like me.
