Default Drivetrain powerloss

On every single car ever made there has been powerloss due to the drivetrain. My car should have somewhere close to 130hp. however at the wheels it is a lot less. is there any way to save my hp that im losing due to the drivetrain?

If you can design new tranny, axle, etc that has less friction. Good luck.

Do not get the dogbone mounts, the suck. I had mine on for maybe like 5 months or something, only 3 of which it was actually driven much at all, and they ovalled and one actually broke causing my engine to fall back and take out an axle. I would go with the inserts you can find on Summit Racing. They just replace the rubber on the stock mounts, makes it much stiffer. Probably won't gain hp, but you will notice the torque is transfered to the ground better.

Motor mounts won't do anything for horse, just torque. Aftermarket ones hold the engine more stiffly, instead of absorbing sudden changes in torque. No more horse to the wheels, but slightly more torque. Many cheap ones fail, like Scott was saying, and many people don't like the feel of things with the dogbones, because the jolts of the engine are going to transfer into the car more, instead of being absorbed.

i'm not sure if there is anything for saturns, or how effective this would be, but has anyone considered lightweight flywheels?

I really liked my dogbone mounts actually. Don't get me wrong, they were nice, weren't as stiff as I thought they would be and you can tell the power is being put to the ground better, mainly during shifts. Of course I like more of a performance feel, so I didn't even mind the increased vibrations, which I only noticed when launching in first. The vibrations actually got worse when they ovalled out a little and had some play in em. I actually bought 2 sets right away for dirt cheap on ebay incase I did break a set, so I'm on my second set right now and watching them very closely. The second I notice them start to oval, I'm gonna rip em out and replace em with the stock ones with inserts.

As for the lightweight flywheel, I am considering getting one when I get my built motor done and ready to put in. Should make the engine spin more freely and rev up and down alot quicker.

A lot of people like lightweight flywheels - they increase throttle response. Your RPMs will go up more quickly, but will also drop more quickly. It *might* free up a tiny, tiny bit of hp since the engine doesn't have to spin quite as much weight, but nothing you'll notice. The drivetrain just takes less energy to get spinning, but holds less to keep it spinning.
