Default Engine swap ??

My 96 DOHC engine is pretty much dead, and I saw an engine from an '01 SOHC for $250. This is a terrible question, but for me to save money I would have to do it, but would the SOHC be able to go right in to my '96 DOHC without a hitch?

Automatic? : No. You would need an auto SOHC transmission along with the engine.

Manual?: yes it would work, however you would also need new manifolds, and downpipe along with a '96 DOHC PCM.

Your gas milage will go down however bc your running a SOHC engine with a DOHC tranny.

It is a manual. I would need a new '96 DOHC PCM?? Why is that?

Ah my mistake. You would need a '96 SOHC PCM. Your current DOHC PCM will get the motor to run but BADLY.

You dont have a single cam Dual Over Head Cam engine. Its either a SOHC or a DOHC. From your previous post im going to say you have a SL1 SOHC.

Also always post your vitals

You would need a DOHC Man PCM from the same year as your car now.
DOHC Engine with brackets
DOHC Manifolds
DOHC Downpipe
DOHC Transmission if you want a performance tranny with shorter gears
DOHC Cluster

What year the DOHC is from will directly effect if that list gets bigger or stays the same
