Default Hard shifting from Park

Hi, on my 2002 Sl2 automatic, after driving around for about 15 minutes, the trasmission shifts hard/salm into any gear from park. The "Service Engine Soon" light also comes on at this time. It shifts ok during the drive at all times. No problem starting in Park. Then when engine cools off everything shifts fine again. What could be the problem? It has 75k miles on it. Changed the trans fluid and filter.
Autozone scanner pulls the following codes: p0705, p0706, p0708

These codes points to "transmission range sensor" bad. what is that? PRNDL switch? Neutral Safety Switch?

Thanks.

Welcome to the Board.

Any recent work in the engine compartment?

Check the transmission range selector switch on the transmission. It is the switch where the shift cable goes onto the trans. Make sure that the wiring to it is good and that all of the connectors to it (3 of them) are all plugged in and in good condition.

Hi, I checked the range sensor connectors. I took the connectors off and cleaned a little bit and put 'em back on tightly. The connector pointed to by the large arrow in this photo was disconnected. I connected to the larger terminal pointed to by the two top arrows. I have no idea what that's for. I am test driving now. Thanks.

That single wire does go onto the larger/taller of the two terminals.

Hey I just developed the same problem but my connector male end is broke it was driving just fine till today can are those parts replaceable?\

What happens is
* Start Car Up
* Apply Brake RPMS drop low (belive its a Oxy Sensor)
* Clunk
* Shift
* RPMS remain low and bogs untill higher rpms are hit

Welcome to the Board.

Plug the wire back onto the the large terminal. Erase the code and drive the car to see if the code comes back.
