Default high oil pressure?

I recently put an oil pressure gauge in my car (3rd gen SL2 with 140K), and I think my oil pressure is too high. When the engine is cold, it reads at 60psi at idle, and quickly goes up to 80psi (before it hits 2K rpm). When the engine is hot, it reads at 30psi at idle, and about 70psi at 3K rpm. Anything above 3K, and the gauge reads 80psi.

These numbers are way above the minimum specs. Are these readings normal, or do I have a blockage somewhere? I'm using new 5w-30 oil.
