Default How much should i ask for my car?

Its a 1998 Saturn SC1
99,000 miles
a/c still blows cold
everything is stock save for the cd player
blown head gasket
car still runs

i looked it up on kbb.com and one in fair shape is between 3 and 4 grand, so im thinkin of askin 2200 or best offer

whatcha think?

p.s. i was going to get a motor and just swap it out, but i dont have the time anymore and i already have 3 cars.

With a blown head gasket you will probably be lucky to get 2200, unfortunately. You may be able to get it if you find the right person, but most car shoppers want something that runs right now & not a project, so your customer base is limited.

Probably start at the 2200, but be ready to lower the price after 3 or 4 weeks if it doesn't sell.

damn, my car looks identical to the one in your avatar, but red.
anywho, i wasnt lookin to get the whole 2200 out of it, i just figured i want either 2 grand or at least 1900... so at least someone could talk me down and think they got a better deal. im not tryin to screw the buyer over, i just dont have time to mess with it anymore.

Im in Bossier City Louisiana... i know that from Atlanta/Marietta (just got back this weekend) its a 10 hour trek each way. so depending on where you are in Ga, you can kinda figure it from there. If you are interested in it, i have a ton of pics, and i would reduce the price a good bit since youre traveling.

Now if only it was a DOHC I would snatch that right up. I don't really feel like doing a swap on another SOHC equiped car. Head gaskets on these things really aren't that hard to replace, I think I did mine in all of 6 hours start to finish.

Sorry i haven't got you an email but mine is down. I'm still interested, just deciding if its worth the drive to have the possibility that it's not just the head gasket. thanks
