Default idle probs with my 95' sl


can anyone help me out? my satty idles at around 600 rpm and sometimes if i dont rev it a little at lights and what not, it feels like its about to stall. any suggestions?

hmmm, have you checked the air filter, and maby plugs and wires???

try unpluging the egr valve, your ses lite may come on as aresult of doing this, but if it idles better after doing this, it's bad

my car does the same exact thing...i tap the gas and it about stalls...never saw it as problem though.

sounds to me like it's your idle air control. Pull your throttle bodies off and you'll need a new gasket to put it back on, don't try to reuse old. on the side of the throttle body is the tps (throttle position sensor) and the IAC (idle air control). both have electrical connections on them. The idle air is a plunger that usually gets very dirty over time on the plunger and needs cleaned, along w/ the throttle body. It controls your idle. You may be able to get it out w/out taking throttle body off, but wouldn't hurt to clean up the throttle body too while at it.
