Default limited slip questions

has anyone installed a phantom grip lsd converter into a their car? does it work well or is it not worth to money...i was looking at lsd's and that seems to be the cheapist option, but i'd like to know how it holds up?

Someone tell me exactly what Phantom Grip does and what the pros' and cons' are of using this instead of putting an actual LSD into the tranny.

they say under hard launches the phatom put the power to both wheels where as a lsd puts the power to the wheel with the most traction, i would go with a true lsd but i dont have that much cash, the phatom is like 800 buck less without ring gears, and like 1000 less bucks with ring gears!!!but if i want to do a turbo i need the traction to be there, i don't want to have 200+ horse power and not be able to get traction...

A phantom grip is a simulated LSD. When one wheel starts spinning, the PG is forced open and it locks your diff so that both wheels turn at the same rate.

An LSD is probably a little more bulletproof than a PG. I doubt you'll have any better traction with one or the other. At least, not $1000 worth of better traction.

Me? I plan on using a closed differential on my project car, so that both wheels ALWAYS turn at the same rate.

and a phantom grip wont stop you from slinging your Diff pin or blowing spider gears.
if i had the money id go Quaife and be done with it.

from what I can tell the PG puts the same tension on the gears stopped or spinning. It locks the diff all times unless you are turning. thats why i would suggest the upgrade spring. I think the best thing is weldidng the gears but turning is an issue. so with the PG and stiff springs its somewhat locked..

i was looking at pants the other day. i know i should go with some levi's, but the k-mart specials were the cheapest.

you get what you pay for. quaife is the ONLY option for lsd. everything else sucks...
