Default My fun day

Ok, so this morning started off good me and a freind both had today off so we decided to put in my HO alt since all the price qoutes for it where 300+ ok so after about 45 mines we get it in and we test drive it and it works no squealing or any thing like that with the overdrive pully on it. now so we part my car and we take his car around cruising and then after i go to take my car home (we did it at his house) the belt are squealing like a mother F&^*er while i had to the car running and he was trying to find where the noise was coming from and it was coming from my tensior and my idler pully but mostly from the tensior. so apperently in order to get to the idler pully you need to take off the TAM and the bracket holding it in then you have just enough clerance to get to the nut. now since the belt is a year old i firgure why not spend 20 bucks and get a new one since the belt is already off. now after every thing was said and done i noticed that there was a bolt that still needed to find a hole to go in. so inlight of my somewhat bad look atleast it showed it's true saturn colors with the spare bolt. now tough i just replaced both my idler pully and my tensior like 4 months ago why would it have been so short of a period for it to go bad?

After replacing the alternator on my '97 SC2, one of the studs worked its way loose after a few thousand miles. Alternator was sagging on one side, causing the belts to squeal horribly. Replaced the bolt, used a lock nut with a nylon insert this time. Worked fine after that. Oh yeah, replaced the old, worn belt with a Razorback (or something like that), it was supposed to hold better than a standard belt and make less noise, at least according to the packaging. I didn't notice anything bad with the belt, and it didn't cost much more than a regular one.

Really? What's so bad about them? Premature wear, slippage, etc.?

I've heard they slip something awful...there was a thread on 6s about it.

BUT, take what I say with a grain of salt. I don't have any personal experience with em. If it's working fine for you, great!
