Default New owner w/ a question

Too all,

I have some previous posts on the technical forum, however, here's one for you.

I bought a 95 sl sedan for $1500.....I have put over 1300miles on it in the last 2 weeks.
The car is in OUTSTANDING condition for 123000 miles and 12 yrs.

I'm going to take it to my mechanic and I want him to go over the vehicle more in depth. What are common problems that can occur at this stage in the cars life... I'm looking at it from the preventive maintenance end of it > what should be replaced or looked at very closely by him??

Thanks for any input...

one of the things i missed was the fact that the tranny was never serviced. granted i only have 43000 miles on it. also double check the gap on the spark plugs and make sure they arent burnt up. spark plug wires are a definite check. also check intake gasket for slight leaks so that you can catch it before it really causes problems. tire wear to see if its not aligned right. thats about it.

I would definitely have them check the CV axle boots and make sure theyre not torn. I make sure the coil packs are all firing correctly....my went out around 80k and was only firing 3. but then again i dogged the crap out of mine at the tracks...lol

It could only work 2 or 4 spark plugs. there are only 2 coil packs. 3 is impossible.
