Default oil

So my window was smashed a while back, and the guy who did it said I was 1.5qts low. It had been like 5 months since I had my oil changed, but I had only driven like 3,300 miles.

So I got my oil changed today, like 3 weeks later, and he said I was a half quart low. I used to check my oil all the time when I first got my car, but it was never low between changes so I stopped. I guess going for a while on the cheap crap you get at Cloister allowed it to get burnt up? or is my car always going to burn oil now?

Also, that oil change was $40, which is pretty ridiculous. How much does a gallon of oil cost? Should I switch to synthetic? What do you take the oil back to the shop in? Can I stop my oil burning? (link? because that's probably pretty popular)

WOW. Come to me and ill change your oil for 40 bucks!

Oil at walmart is 12 bucks for Castrol HIgh milage 10w-30 5qt container. 10 bucks for Castrol 10w-30. Oil filter is 4.99 also at walmart. You want a P3614 (thats the FRAM part number). I personally get the Tough Guard, TG3614. So I would be making a 20 dollar profit

The bolt in the black thing (at :36) is the oil drain plug

Any place that sells oil must take used oil back by law. Use the Oil container you got to put the used oil back in.

All saturns burn oil. Its important to check it regularly as thats usually why saturns die...people for get to add oil.

A MMO soak helps reduce oil consumption for rather bad cases, such as 1qt for 500 miles or so. Someone who gets 1qt for 1k miles or better is actually a lucky saturn owner

I can go about 1000 mile to be a quart low.Past several oil changes I been using hi-milage oil, either Castrol or Valvoline, but I'll probly start using the Valvoline and I use a Motorcraft SP-400 filter,I think that's the #,but it's a bigger filter.

I check my oil about every other fill up(right at 300 miles),and keep a quart in the car at all times.

I use to use Tech 2000 full synthetic in it,but I think the Valvaline works better on oil consumption.
