Default Radiator fan not working

My radiator fan in my 99 saturn s-series is not kicking on. I bought a new sensor switch and a new fan motor and it's still not working. Any ideas?

The cooling fan on these cars can kick on any where from the 1/2 to 3/4 plus area on the temp gauge.
The sensor switch that you mention one would assume is the PCM (ECT) coolant temp sensor. The two wire sensor connector on the back of the head. It does not actually turn the fan on. It sends the temp reading to the PCM and it turns the fan on when needed. When you replaced it did you inspect the connector for it for corrosion in the terminals? If there is any corrosion in the terminals replace the connector.
Have you checked the fuse for the cooling fan?
If the car has working AC turn it on and see if the fan comes on. If it does then there is nothing wrong with the fan and its circuits.

My brother looked at it and said one of the wires looked corroded. My car over heated and the fan never kicked on.

As I mentioned already if there is any sign of corrosionin the connector terminals of the temp sensor connector replace the connector. You can get them from Saturn. Failing that hit a wrecking yard and clip out the connector for air intake temp sensor and use that to replace the coolant sensor connector. Use heat shrink butt connectors to splice the wires.
