Default Saturn DOHC, a different engine?

Hi, my 2001 SL2 DOHC engine looks different than any pictures I have seen in service books. It's throttle body location on the manifold is approx at the center of the head with the throat facing up. I have intermittent high speed idling, rough trans shifting and error code that says bad EGR valve.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Jerry

2000+ Saturn DOHC engines have a composite intake manifold and a vertically mounted throttle body.

It should look like this:

Sounds like time to clean out the egr valve. BTW, the engines with that style TB are the late '99-'02 DOHC.
