Not a dumb question, and it is doable - the 2 engines share the same block. You'll need to change the head, timing chain & cover, PCM, maybe something else. This will give you more power, but won't make the engine the same as the DOHC, because you'll still have the SOHC pistons. Often people find it's worth it to just swap to a DOHC, because it ends up not being much more money, and it's easiest to do the head swap with the engine removed anyway, but if you have or can get just the head & stuff at a reasonable price, it's do-able. |
