Default 8v to 16v ????


i am just wondering if it is at all posible to swap my sohc head for a dohc head and keep the rest of my engine the way it is, i dont wana buy or rebuild a dohc engine wile mine is still runing good and theres not much point in moding a sohc enging(at least i dont think there is) i drive a 1996 saturn sl1 (if this is the dumbest question that you have ever been asked let me know)

Not a dumb question, and it is doable - the 2 engines share the same block. You'll need to change the head, timing chain & cover, PCM, maybe something else. This will give you more power, but won't make the engine the same as the DOHC, because you'll still have the SOHC pistons. Often people find it's worth it to just swap to a DOHC, because it ends up not being much more money, and it's easiest to do the head swap with the engine removed anyway, but if you have or can get just the head & stuff at a reasonable price, it's do-able.

Doesn't 6th planet sell rebuilt twincam motors, with proper rings so they don't burn oil? And does he do anything to them to make them more powerful than stock?
