Default Aftermarket Cruise Controls

Does anyone have an aftermarket cruise control? I have read a lot about Rosta Precision Controls DIY kit for about $250.00. Any bits of advice? I can get about 40mph on my daily drive into Los Angeles, but I'm sure if I had a cruise and didn't fluctuate so much I could get better....

with the 's' series all you have to do is buy a used module, pedal control and steeringwheel switch, the plugins are already there (nice of Saturn to have them ready),

then just go to the dealer and get the PCM flashed for cruise and you will be good to go.

oh, i bought mine on Fleabay for $40, programming varies greatly from dealer to dealer (out here on the West Coast they want $125, i have heard $60 to $80 from others who have done this)....

the factory hookups are the way to go, plug and play. i just checked Fleabay, there are many to choose from, you need two items, the pedal control and the steering wheel switch (they are year specific, with certain years clumped together, ie., same control). when it comes to the steering wheel switch, i cut out the plastic rather than replace the steering wheel as the banded contact strip get fubared with complete steering wheel removal....

took about an hour and a half to do the whole job properly, most of the time was spent getting/figuring out how to get the airbag and cover off to do the work.....and razor blading the little plastic work needed on the steeringwheel to get the module to fit....

good luck.

I have installed 3 aftermarket units in my life, but the last time was like 20 years ago. I don't even recall seeing any in stores anymore. It has magnets you ty-rap to the CV joint and a pick up on a bracket that holds it out over the magnets, servo, controller, bla bla bla, you connect to the car's vacuum systam tp ower the servo. I did one that had its own built in vacuum source and it kept crapping out. Unreliable, that one. the rest were fine.
