yeah lemme say a few things here:

1) installation took less than 30 minutes, and that's with both of use scratching our heads as to how in the heck it's been done before..

2) the filter sits low, much more-so now that his car is lowered, but runs into no threat of being knocked off because the bumper cover will be hit first before the filter could be touched..

3) it's easier on the eclipse bomz cai to install the filter TIGHTLY first, then guide the two pipes together

4) many people suggest the second metallic nipple be cut off, it is not neccesary, and while the bomz is somewhat universal and does not come with a battery tray bracket as the AEM etc do, it is held in place but pressure from the rubber coupling and eliminates battery rub experienced with the universal bomz WAI

5) sound is delicious, and preformance above 1500 rpms is even more so.

- This particular intake was purchased off Ebay for 50 dollars shipped and while the filter is not of the highest quality, is suprisingly powerful.

just asking cos i just ordered my cai for $37.95 [seller=option racing]. theye in california too [like 30 mins from me] so i should have my intake shortly.

30 min install isnt bad at all though. i was thinking about powdercoating the intake black before install though. thanks for pics & info!

i would consider moving that filter about a foot towards the drivers side. it may sound cool, but you're not making the most possible power because the hottest air comes from the ground.

sc- believe me, it's cool that we got a cai to work on an auto at all because it's literally so tight it cannot be moved a single inch either way, to the left or the right of the coolant hose..

bobo- it should be identical in position, just make sure you put the filter on the long hose first, and i mean ON THERE TIGHTLY, then guide the pipe up past the auto tranny filter etc. oh the bomz there was no battery tray bracket as i mentioned before, but there was an extra metallic nipple that can be cut off to allow for a little more clearance. i know it's been done before, but i never thought any pipe would fit through there because of that *beeping* auto tranny filter..
