Default car caught fire

Okay I drove to work today with no problems with my car. I go to start my car and lunch and it won't start. So I went with someone to get starting to verify that there is a spark. Sprayed starting fluid in the air cleaner. The car popped back through the intake but didn't start. We then sprayed chemtool through the intake and the car popped again but wouldn't start. This time it cause the intake to catch fire. Fortunately there was a fire extinguisher available. What does this sound like? What is wrong? Obviously there is a spark. Is it timing? How could the timing suddenly change? I'm guessing there isn't any fuel for it to fire with the chemtool and starting fluid, but not without it. But why did it pop back through the intake?

I shot it in through the end of the intake tube where the air cleaner is located. Don't think any really got in the engine and if so, oh well. I'll vacuum the intake manifold out before I try starting it again.

What do you all think? Come one come all with your answers!

Sounds like it is time to put down the starting fluid

How many miles? Sounds like a good question for the tech forum. Ssicarman would probably nail this right off, but I don't normally see him answer questions here.

I have an idea, but rather then send you barking up the wrong tree I will wait on others who have had this problem first hand.

Maybe a moderator can move this thread to the tech forum for you.
