Default How do you check the trans fluid on an 04 Ion ?

I can see the tube going down to the trans but there doesn't seem to be a stick to check the level.

Start by reading the little book that came in the glove box.

Are you saying that the owners manual gives instructions on how to check the level ?

Well it's good to know you can read, you have one thing going for you. Now jack your car up get under it. It's obvious which plug is the check and fill hole. But then again maybe not because you'll find nothing to read on it.

Now was that so difficult ? I've never seen an auto trans that you have to check like a standard shift. Thank you I'm forever in your debt.

Thats .............. obvious

Oh unless your looking at the wrong year book or you posted the wrong year ION the 2004 ION owners manual on page 5-24 and 5-25 have nothing to do with steam, the subject matter is obvious. Good luck I hope you don't burn yourself checking the fluid level. I wonder what fluid you'll put in if it needs topping off.

When I have a min. I'll scan 5-24 and 5-25 for you and prove you wrong. You know I just signed up on this forum why are you acting like a smart ass ,do you think this is the right way to treat new people ?

Oh you don't need to scan anything...I have owners manuals for all years the ION was built sitting here at my desk so the only thing you'll be able to prove is that you scanned some book. The pages do not list the make, model or year of car so scan away just don't burn yourself on the lamp or steam.

Now if your in Canada .... thats another story problem
